Mishkath: Journal of Interdisciplinary Research is a proposed annual, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the scholarly study of Islam, Islamic Thought, and the Sri Lankan Muslim community. While maintaining a special focus on Muslims in Sri Lanka, the journal is highly inclusive and welcoming interdisciplinary research on broader Islamic themes - prioritizing Islamic Finance and Economic Empowerment, Islamic Jurisprudence with special attention to the Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act (MMDA), Multicultural Co-existence, and Contemporary Social Issues - adopting a double-blind peer review process and Open Access policy to ensure global reach and rigorous scholarship.
Background and rationale
There is a growing need for a robust academic platform that bridges global Islamic thought with local realities. While the Sri Lankan Muslim community has a rich history and faces complex contemporary challenges, high-quality, indexed academic literature documenting this narrative remains fragmented. Mishkath Research Institute seeks to fill this void by providing an inclusive, credible, and high-quality outlet for scholarship that connects local issues with broader interdisciplinary and Islamic discourses.

- To generate meaningful social impact within the Sri Lankan Muslim community by translating research findings and recommendations into actionable guidance for social, educational, and developmental activities.
