The journal will be published online as an annual, open-access journal through Open Journal Systems (OJS). A print edition may be considered later.
Open access means the journal’s contents are published online and are freely readable, without a subscription or a paywall between the research and its readers. For a journal serving a specific community and its scholars, that reach is the point: research about the Sri Lankan Muslim community should be readable by that community, by policymakers, and by researchers anywhere.
The journal will apply for an online ISSN (e-ISSN) through the ISSN National Centre for Sri Lanka at the National Library and Documentation Services Board. A separate print ISSN will be obtained if a print edition is introduced.
The journal’s funding plan is institutional grants and sponsorships through Mishkath Research Institute, together with an endowment (waqf) fund intended to give it long-term stability.
The establishment proposal envisages that nominal fees may be introduced for international authors after Year 2, with waivers for local students and scholars. That is a plan, not a policy in force: no fee schedule has been approved and no amounts have been set.
Fee schedule: To Be Confirmed
No fee schedule has been approved and no amounts have been set. The position described above is what the establishment proposal envisages, not a policy in force.
Submissions must be original, must not have been published previously, and must not be under consideration by another journal at the same time.
Manuscripts will be submitted electronically through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform. Author-identifying information will be supplied separately from the blinded manuscript.
Submissions are open
Manuscripts are submitted through the journal's Open Journal Systems platform.
